|
|
I tired upgrading my kernel to the latest mm-sources version, 2.6.0_beta1-r2. I am not getting any output to the console on boot up. I know I need CONFIG_VT=y etc set, but I don't see where to set that in menuconfig, and I don't see it listed in the .config file. Is there some other option I need to set to be able to turn this on?
Thanks. |

You need to compile input *into* kernel, and then, u will find this option under char device. |

At the risk of sounding like a noob, how do I compile input into the kernel? |

Input device support --------->
<*> Input devices (needed for keyboard, mouse, ...)
make sure it's * instead of M here
Then you will find these additional options under Char. devices
Character devices ------>
[*] Virtual terminal
[*] Support for console on virtual terminal
also enable
[*] Unix98 PTY support
And, you might need /dev/pts enabled to make the console under X work properly, which can be found under
file systems->pseudo filesystem
good luck! |
