|

Hi,
First of all, I'm farily new to Linux in general.
I'm trying to install Gentoo (2008.0 beta 2) from the minimal CD using a dial-up connection (Intel 536ep chipset). The issue I'm having with my modem is that the drivers supplied by Intel do not compile with recent versions of the Linux kernel. Through searching these forms and the bug thingy, I did, however, find recently patched versions here, but am stumpted as to how to use them. How do I install these drivers?
Thanks in advance. |

These are in xwing's overlays, you can read about how to use overlays in the overlays userguide.
You will need to install layman, and then add xwing's overlay withthen you will be able to use the ebuilds he provides. But read the userguide it's not long and there are a couple of changes you need to make in /etc/make.conf. _________________ Adopt an orphan |
