Is it possible to disable audio visualisations in xine when playing music files? The settings dialog doesn't present an option for 'none'. I've tried altering the config file to specify '0' or some other arbitrary value to affect this, but that doesn't seem to work.

Thanks.

Yes, there is. Make sure your xine-lib version is 1.1.8, and emerge gxine instead. Xine seems to provide no "none" option under visualization; which gxine does provide. I just tried it on my machine and xine is missing the "none" setting.

Blessed be!

Unfortunately it seems that gxine brings itself back to windowed mode from full-screen when playing a song (and shows the song details in the window) which defeats the purpose of having no visualisations for me in this case...

Thanks anyway for the suggestion.
