Hi,

I'm in the middle of an install, and I just discovered that my Shift key doesn't work. (Neither Shift key) So, if i need to type a command using a _ or a capital letter, I cannot. It worked OK before with other Linuxes.

This is on a ProStar Model 2794 laptop.

Thanks,
-Joe G.

More info...

Letter key gives me lower case.
Shift + letter key still gives me lower case.
Caps Lock + letter key gives me upper case.

Caps Lock + underscore "_" gives me "-" .
Shift Key + Caps Lock + "-" still gives me " - ".

I cannot get underscore no matter what.

I simply let Gentoo do its thing. No option was given for keyboard selection, so I assumed it used the default US Keyboard.

Thanks,
-Joe

I'm trying Slackware on here to test for a hardware error.

I'll report back.

Thanks,
-Joe

Meanwhile you can always use the autocomplete feature wich comes with *almost* any shell typping the first one or two letters and hitting TAB twice.

Regards.
