I just built myself a new PC with onboard sound. The motherboard is an Asus Striker II Extreme.
The board comes with an optical out, but for some reason ALSA can't find it. It said it could not automatically determine the model while booting, so I forced the only model that seemed to fit mine (6stack-dig). However, it doesn't provide a way to toggle the optical on and off.

Does anyone have optical working with this particular chipset? So far, everything appears to work except the optical/coax digital out. |
