My user bastiaf is in the group wheel and audio.
wheel::10:root,bastiaf
audio::18:bastiaf
But if I want to play mp3s or something else, then arts (e.g.) says "no permission". But the devices /dev/sound/* have rw permissions for the audio group.
If I list the devices in /dev/sound with user bastiaf (ll /dev/sound), then all (4) devices appear as
-rw------- bastiaf audio device
After that ll with root shows the same. The only thing I did was "ll /dev/sound", nothing else! |

| The devices appear "normal", if I ll the directory with root, before an ll with bastiaf. |
