Simple. You forgot to sacrifice a goat.
Really, it would help if you post at least some information. Do you get any output during the boot process? If so what are the last five lines? Have you searched to forums for threads that describe the problem you're experiencing? _________________ Please add [solved] to the initial post's subject line if you feel your problem is resolved. I tried to search for some information in this forum bit didn't find any.
I am kind of new at installing a linux distribution.
Some info:
1. The boot process attempts to "mount media" and success only for /dev/hdc. What is the difference between hda and hdc? Is this o.k?
2. The boot process continues and changes to the "progress bar mode". I changed to verbose mode to check if everything is o.k. And indeed it is.
3. I think after setting the "framebuffer" the computer boots and the boot process got stuck. |

hello,
you are booting gentoo with minimal cd?
probably hda is your hard drive and hdc is your cd/dvd unit. |

I have the LiveCD (700MB).
So because the boot process cannot mount my hard drive the boot gets stuck? |

if try start gdm, the boot is completed.
gdm starts gnome.
if gnome not starts, probably auto-configuration fails.
but if you decide install gentoo, just open other console. |
