All,

I'm having a hell of a time with trying to get my gentoo box to get a wireless bridge to pass traffic.

Here is the history. This computer is my gateway to the internet (until i moved) and had 2 internal interfaces on br0. No issues. I moved and due to the location of the modem and the system I have to use a wireless in this unit for client to the main ap.

So i went out and got this PCI wireless card and just can't get data to transmit in the bridge.

If the system is running as wlan0 i can pass data and traffic just fine. when i add it to the bridge i get nothing. I followed the gentoo wireless/ap wiki and ran the ebtables command listed there and i get no reply to the internet and from a xp client it changes from reply from 192.168.15.100 (local computer): Destination host unreachable to Request timed out.

My server is 192.168.15.2 and my linksys ap (acting as router at 192.168.15.1)

I'm getting very frustrated.

Any help is greatly appriciated

Most wireless cards can't act as bridges. I ran into this problem when trying to set up a VPN server. I don't know the technical details, but it has something to do with how wireless ethernet works. Supposedly there are only a few wireless adapters out there that are actually able to do wireless ethernet bridging. (You'd need something with chipset, firmware, and driver support.) Since I was using the wireless built into a laptop, buying a different adapter was not option for me, so I didn't look into it further. Sorry I can't offer more useful advice.
