I searched in the makefile but it's difficult to understand where it fails...

Emerge ccache and then emerge openoffice-ximian. It will take care of your compile troubles.

I have a cool little heads up I'd like to share.

I'be just gotten an invitation from Novell, the have bought Ximian, and I am inivited to the discussion about it as well as the future plans for it.

Coolness

OpenOffice 1.1 RC3 is now out. Do we have to wait for Ximian to come out with their own version or can we go about it on our own?

I've downloaded the file twice but still get the error once compiling:

Calculating dependencies ...done!
>>> emerge (1 of 1) app-office/openoffice-ximian-1.1_rc2-r1 to /

!!! File is corrupt or incomplete. (Digests do not match)
>>> our recorded digest: fdf1b41a035b40efb5259f9077dcf36d
>>> your file's digest: 5734db4a23843d3f324cb5d6fe519c43
!!! File does not exist: /usr/portage/distfiles//OOo_1.1rc2_source.tar.bz2

Where/how can I find a good version of the file?

Thanks!

I dowloaded it manually into my distfiles from ftp://ftp.ussg.iu.edu/pub/openoffice/stable/1.1rc2/OOo_1.1rc2_source.tar.bz2

I know ;-) Working on it since 2 days but compiling and testing such a big package takes a lot of time... (especially if there are new build breakages in every new release). ATM it compiles fine (for me), but it doesn't start, seems to be a problem with one of the ximian patches, just have to find out which one ;-)

Stay tuned!

At least, that's what the OpenOffice-Mantainers promised... More of a problem is that gcc 3.2.3 (which is the standard in gentoo atm) creates build problems, that's why it is ruled out in the default build... So let's just hope that gcc 3.3.1 makes it to unstable anytime soon...

I had the same error as some of the guys above, then re-emerging ccache fixed it, but now when it compiles, its sending a wrong option to ccache?

Help.
