While installing my scanner I created a scanner group and it got the guid 1101 which I think is not correct as system guids shoul be below 1000. Now I want to change this but can't find any standard that defines the guids for the various groups. Googling for "guid standard" brought up nothing.
Where can this documentation be found? |

Why do you think there's a standard for GIDs? There is no need for one and it doesn't matter at all what numeric value a GID has.
BTW, a GUID is a globally unique ID, something totally different from UNIX GIDs. |

Well it does matter which gid you use if you install new deamons that have a gid and you already created this gid yourself and now this daemon cant work properly. |
