Proxy-problem

hey dudes,

i got a problem during my installation.
i tried to download stage3, or to connect to the gentoo-site via links:

links -http-proxy USERNAME:PASSWD@proxy.my.com:8080 www.example.net

i always get an error from the windows-proxy-server, number 407: authentification required.

the username and the password are ok, i know that... whats going wrong? please help me.

Hi,
Is proxy have some kind of firewall running? Is it listening on the port you specified? Does those ID/Password has proper rights to go out to Web?

wild guess: your proxy uses ntlm auth scheme
