|
|
Hi,
Installing Gentoo is not realy easy
I've now compiled the kernel, it works now, but I can't get my network running. I've compiled the driver modules such as PCMCIA into the kernel, not as modules.
(In the menuconfig a <*> not a <m>)
But the Kernel dosen't load them. How could I check which modules are compiled in the kernel?
Where do the other "modules", which just should be loaded with /etc/modules.autoconfig.d/kernel-x.xx, have to be? _________________ There 10 Sorts of People,

Gentoo is not supposed to be easy in general That will most probably never change because easy means a lot of automatic stuff and automatic stuff means less control, less flexibility and less customisation. And that's exactly what Gentoo is made for
Anything that is compiled into the kernel does not have to be loaded on start up. Are you sure you chose the correct modules and set the configuration up correctly? How do you know the modules are not loaded? what does lspcmcia say? |

Ok,
lspci says: "command not found"
lspcmcia says nothing... (it just created a new line in the Terminal)
"pccardctl info" is installed but says nothing... the same as lspcmcia _________________ There 10 Sorts of People,

There is probably something configured incorrectly. But I can't tell you what it is as I never set up pcmcia. |
