copy/paste buffer again

same idea as this post. I have not been able to figure out what application or utility steals the ability for me to paste this buffer out while xsel is showing me the proper data in it. Can someone please give me a way to debug this problem or show me solutions that have worked for people in the past and I will try them all. Thanks
