Americas Army doesn't want to play right...
When I start to play, I get a strange display of polygons all in the wrong places with some of the wierdest textures; it's kind of interesting... if it were a screensaver. But, I want to actually play the game in stead, so ... ...
If you want me to post anything,... yea... that'd be greeaaat. _________________ - BjH

Dude, are you trying to play with the system you have there in your signature? An original radeon won't be able to play Americas Army if I'm not mistaken. Can you play ut2003 okay? (same engine) |

Does your system fit the following?
* Pentium3 766 (or equivalent)
* 128MB RAM
* 32MB vid card supporting hardware T&L
* 600MB Hard Drive free space
* 56k modem or better
* NVIDIA® nForceTM or other motherboards/soundcards containing the Dolby® Digital Interactive Content Encoder required for Dolby Digital audio. |

The original Radeon VIVO should work okay under 800x600x16 settings in the game. What drivers are you using? Are you sure DRI is working properly?
I would actually suggest either the Xfree-drm drivers or gatos (http://gatos.sf.net)... in that order for gaming with that card.
If you are using the ati-drivers, they, what's the word, oh yeah... SUCK
Normally graphical anomalies are driver or configuration related. _________________ -----------------------------------------

I've gotten UT2003 to play on an ATI 3d Rage Pro. Of course it only works when set to the lowest settings, it runs almost smooth, but very playable. I'm surprised that I don't get any artifacts or errors when running the game as this video card is dozens of generations old.
I actually kind of liked it on such low settings, the dithering made it look sweet and movie-like. _________________ Athlon XP 2000+ Palomino @ 1.667ghz
