I'm currently running quod libet on XFCE 4 and I'm reading that it does radio stations and what not. I do not have the ability to play streams nor is there a radio station menu item such as that I'm reading. The only use flag that I dont know exactly what capabilities it adds is the GNOME use flag. But that installs half of gnome which I do not want to do. I love quod libets layout and features but I also would like it to play streams. Is this possible? |

Hi feilfritt,
You will need to enable the gnome USE flag on quodlibet in order to get the Internet radio feature. There is no way around this.
Cheers,

You could use SVN trunk (Quodlibet 2) and will be able to set xine backend, ergo be able to play internet radio streams flawlessly...
The instructions on how to fetch SVN trunk are at EF/QL homepage, the settings will be:
File=$HOME/.quodlibet/config
goto [player] section
replace:
'backend = gstbe' with 'backend = xinebe'
'gst_pipeline = autosink (or whatever)' with 'gst_pipeline = '
HTH

Ahhh, so it was the GNOME use flag. Thats unfortunate, but the svn trunk idea sounds good. I hadn't even thought of that. Thank you both for your replies
