|
|
I get the following error after every emerge...
* Regenerating GNU info directory index...
install-info: warning: no info dir entry in `/usr/share/info/emodules.info.gz'
* Processed 86 info files; 1 errors.
The emerged packages all work correctly. Does anyone know what the cause of this is and what impact it will have to my system? (Which has been running smoothly with Gentoo 1.1a -- no problems at all)
Thanks,

I'm not sure the cause, maybe someone else can help with that. However, I do believe your info directory is not being updated. Which means when you use the info command you will not have access to your package's info files from the menu. This will not stop your programs from executing. But will make it a pain to view your package's documentation. |

I have exact the same problem (only with some more errors: 23):
Processed 72 info files: 23 errors; type emerge --verbose to view error
Can anyone tell me how bad this is please |

I get a variation of this error as well after an emerge I do emerge --verbose and:
install-info: warning no info dir entry in '/usr/share/info/time.info'
It would be nice to know if this was a serious problem, and even if it wasn't it would be nice to resolve
Otherwise the system runs like top Gentoo 1.1a i686 |
