Hi,
I'm trying to get my laptop's multimedia keys to work and everything is fine, except the volume up/down keys. It seems to be a gentoo specific problem, since with ubuntu it worked flawless.
In gentoo however, the keys do net generate "key release" events, meaning pressing the key results in the system thinking I'm pressing the button without releasing it.
I verified that with showkey -s: the volume up key generates only "0xe0 0x30" instead of "0xe0 0x30 0xe0 0x60" which is press + release (keycode 114).
Interestingly, using my logitech remote control which also has these buttons, I get the whole set of codes (press+release. same scancode, same keycode). So the problem exists only for the keys on my laptop.
Anyone have any idea what causes this? Is there a way to change the generated scancodes? because this really seems to be the problem.
thanks a lot,
