this is actually going to be my first time using linux, but i have a lot of programming and command line experience so i'm fairly comfortable with installing Gentoo.
the issue is that i have a Toshiba laptop, amd k6-2 333 mhz, 32 mb ram, i got no clue what the graphic controller is, but i know it's an onboard. same with the audio controller. i ran knoppix, it recognised the graphic board fine, but i don't know about audio because frankly the laptop is far too slow for knoppix to be running.
my primary issue is with my pci wireless adapter....will it work? i'm installing linux mostly for experimenting with but my sister is gonna need a user friendly pc with web access for school, i don't want my windows box getting effed up any more than it already is.
the wireless adapter is a Network Everywhere NWP11B (the company is a division of linksys). their site doesn't say anything, but maybe someone here would know if it'll run?
thanks in advance |
