Hi,
I'm sick of the sound of some flash-apps I'm using. Unfortunately there's no way to deactivate the sound of flash. After a long search I decided to install pulseaudio. But now I ran into problems.
My system:
3 soundcards:
1st - Audigy Soundblaster
2nd - Nvidia nforce2 onboard soundchip
3rd - Booktree tv-card soundchip
Pulseaudio chooses by default the nforce-chip. I want to use the Audigy-card. For that reason pulseaudio comes with a tool: padevchooser. But that thing doesn't start.
To install pulseaudio I used these 2 tutorials:
http://gentoo-wiki.com/PulseAudio
http://www.pulseaudio.org/wiki/PerfectSetup
I can play the sample file in the PulseAudio Manager (paman) when I choose the 2nd device at the point "Playback on:"
Now the problem with padevchooser:
When I start padevchooser as a user, I don't get any message. It simply doesn't start. Do I start it as root, I get:
Code: | padevchooser
libnotify-Message: Unable to get session bus: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken. |
Avahi-daemon ist started.
Dbus and Hal are started too.
I tried both - install pulseaudio with an without policykit Use flag.
Code: | [ebuild R ] media-sound/pulseaudio-0.9.10-r1 USE="X alsa asyncns avahi bluetooth caps dbus glib hal libsamplerate lirc tcpd -gnome -jack -oss (-policykit)" 0 kB |
What's wrong in my settings? |
