As the topic says, how do I go about changing the appearance of KDE3 apps under KDE4.1 ? _________________ Who shall guard the guards? |

That of course is a solution but I was looking for something less time consuming. kcontrol-3.5.9 wants to install 11 new packages. I would rather keep the default theme right now that installing so much of slotted software.
And anyways, the only kde3 apps that I am using right now are kile and amarok. Hopefully they would be ported soon. Amarok is already there in alpha. No idea about kile.
Again edit, texmaker builds with qt-4.4 so I could replace kile with that.
Looks like I do not have much to complain about. _________________ Who shall guard the guards? |

Install some qt3 theme(s), and use /usr/qt/3/bin/qtconfig to change it. _________________ http://proaudio.tuxfamily.org/wiki - pro-audio software overlay

/usr/qt/3/bin/qtconfig does not change the look of KDE3 apps but rather the look of qt3 basd apps such as doxywizard. Why it does that? I don't know. _________________ Who shall guard the guards? |

Really? Tell me the name of the theme that you are using, and I would try it again. _________________ Who shall guard the guards? |

After a quick grep I found this file:
Code: | ~/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals |
Note that ~/,kde is a symlink, so, make sure you edit the correct file, Gentoo maintains different ~/.kde* dirs for different versions of kde. Look for widgetStyle into that file. |
