The two threads talk about two separate things, public and private/personal overlays. Could you unmerge them. I would appreciate it. |

Code: | # layman -l
* desktop-effects [Git ] (source: git://git.overlays.gentoo....)
* java-overlay [Subversion] (source: http://overlays.gentoo.org...)
* kdesvn-portage [Git ] (source: git://dev.gentooexperiment...)
* pro-audio [Subversion] (source: svn://svn.tuxfamily.org/sv...)
* science [Subversion] (source: http://overlays.gentoo.org...)
* sunrise [Subversion] (source: http://overlays.gentoo.org...) | So 6.
I also have 2 private overlays; one for third-party ebuilds, and one for homecooked ebuilds. _________________

In fact, one day I will try that, but private/public and official overlay is awesome. |

I'm not using any of the overlays at the moment, although circumstances push me into the direction of kdesvn-portage. The state of KDE 4 in the official Gentoo is amazing in a bad way. |

The two threads are not getting unmerged. My request has been "denied"
I will change the title shortly to reflect this. Feel free to continue contributing on both topics. |
