This may seem like a silly question, but I have been wondering what the differences are between 'emerge apache' and emerge httpd'. I noticed that apache emerge'd with only about 3 dependencies, however httpd requires quite a few more ( > 30 or so ). So what is the difference? I emerge'd apache and I am running that now, but I am curious what httpd would provide.

Thanks.

'httpd' is an emacs package, not apache.

Code:
*  app-emacs/httpd
      Latest version available: 0.5
      Latest version installed: [ Not Installed ]
      Size of downloaded files: 4 kB
      Homepage:    http://www.chez.com/emarsden/downloads/
      Description: A HTTP server embedded in the Emacs
