Does anyone else think the vertical scrollbar on the Gentoo forums is a bit hard to see? I'm using Konqueror. I guess it's something to do with the default subSilver theme.
P.S. the scrollbar looks fine in Mozilla though (I guess it ignores that bit of the stylesheet), but I miss KDE's antialiased fonts! |

Someone else using KDE/Konq had this problem. I think it exists only for
users of the two, or at least Konq. I use Galeon and like the bar just fine. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

There's a weird CSS thing that lets a site owner change the scrollbar color in some browsers, such as Konqeror or IE. I agree, it is hard to see; that's why I'm using Mozilla. _________________ I don't believe in witty sigs. |

Hmm. It looks fine now.
I'm not sure if anything has changed in the stylesheet or if it's just because I'm currently in the process of reemerging my whole Gentoo system! _________________ Ebichu wa chiizu ga daisuki dechu! |

Some kde/qt styles allow the scrollbar color to change, while others don't (e.g. keramik).
You can experiment with them until you'll find the right one for you. _________________ There's someone in my head but it's not me - Pink Floyd |

Thanks, mksoft. My scrollbar went back to its hard-to-see state after I'd finished re-emerging KDE, so I took your advice and selected a different style.
The B3/KDE style looked fairly close to the HighColor Default style I had been using (apart from the lack of gradiated shading), and seems to do the trick, as now only the actual scrollbar changes color when visiting the Gentoo forums, and its conduit keeps its default color.
I am one happy hampster! _________________ Ebichu wa chiizu ga daisuki dechu! |

|
|
1. Create a file and put something like this in it:
BODY,HTML {
scrollbar-face-color: lightgray !important;
scrollbar-shadow-color: black !important;
scrollbar-highlight-color: darkgray !important;
scrollbar-3dlight-color: lightgray !important;
scrollbar-darkshadow-color: darkgray !important;
scrollbar-track-color: darkgray !important;
scrollbar-arrow-color: black !important;
}
2. Save the file as 'nocoloredscrollbar.css'
3. In Konqueror, choose Settings->Configure Konqueror
4. Choose the 'Stylesheets' section
5. Choose the "User defined style sheet" radio button and browse to your 'nocoloredscrollbar.css' file
6. Click the 'Apply' button.
That's it! Now Konqueror will use your scrollbar settings instead of the website settings. |
