Hi,
My current gentoo system has worked for months now without this problem. Now i updated portage and by updating some program beagle got installed.
I also changed my profile to 2008.0/desktop.
Since then gnome freezes very frequently up after a random time. Mostly it freezes up after i just closed a terminal or when i'm opening many programs/files. When it happens, everything stays visible and i can still move my mouse. Ctrl-alt-backspace and those key-combinations still work, but i cant interact with anything in gnome.
I tried emerge -avuD system, remerging nautilus and revdep-rebuild. Online i saw a suggestion removing beagle, because there are some problems between beagle and reiserfs. This did not solve the problem.
What can I try to get this right?
-Portage version: 2.1.4.4
-kernel: 2.6.19-gentoo-r5
-gcc: 4.1.1
-processor: amd athlon 64 processor 3500+
