Hi,
I have had Compiz-Fusion from the overlay (v 0.7.6) working for a long time. For some reason, possibly due to myself being clumsy, I managed to uninstall python. I have got it back again now and emerge is working. far as I know I have all Python modules I need.

However fusion-icon still doesn't start up:
Code:
fusion-icon
 * Detected Session: gnome
 * Searching for installed applications...
 * NVIDIA on Xorg detected, exporting: __GL_YIELD=NOTHING
 * Using the GTK Interface
 * No module named gtk
 ... Trying another interface
 * Using the Qt4 Interface
 * No module named PyQt4
 ... Trying another interface
 * Using the Qt3 Interface
 * Interface not installed
 *** Error: All interfaces failed, aborting!

I have tried to re-install compiz-fusion, but no success. What is this gtk module it is looking for? Is it a Python ebuild I haven't got, or some configuration that needs editing?

Thanks,

Mons

It looks like you don't have pygtk, revdep-rebuild should fix that.

Finally sorted. I had gotten into some confusion when upgrading to Python 2.5. Tried Python-updater, but no result.
I even tried to re-install Python itself. Emerge then didn't work, so I re-installed manually, but then after re-installing from portage I suddenly had 2 copies of Python 2.5.
To get out of it I installed the old 2.4, then removed both 2.5 versions. Then I rebult compiz-fusion with "emerge -DNeua compiz-fusion". This was 404 packages in all.

It worked though :)

I have masked Python 2.5 in my /etc/portage/package.mask in order to avoid surprises when doing other updates....
