I've installed nwn using the installer.
I've fixed the installer installing Wine, extracting files from the first CD and copying everything in my /opt/nwn.
I've done the SDL trick, linking my SDL libs where nwn expects to find them.
It does not work, the really explanatory error is 'Error'.
The quite explanatory directory logs/ is empty.
I'd like to know what else can I try: I don't have a dual boot system so I can't use Windows, it's incredible that I can't extract data files from my original and expensive 3 CD set, and that the only information I have is 'error'.
TIA |

hey,
i actually had this exact same error... but mine was originally working, then i tried to install quake1 and quake3, and they broke my nwn install by resulting in when i tried to run the game (nwn).
what i did was i re-emerged the nvidia drivers... the procedure can be found from this url down about 1/4 the page with the heading "Configuring your NVIDIA Card".
though i am assuming you have an nvidia card... i really dont know what the problem was, but i am thinking it had something to do with when i typed: or something like that, because it switched modes or something. i am really unsure what that did, maybe someone with more XP can fill that void, but when i did re-install with the nvidia drivers, it switch back to something like "nvidia mode" or something of the like.
so these are my experiences, hope it helps. _________________

map { $i++ while chop; push (@dune,$i); undef $i; } split /[eE]/;
map { print chr ${\(shift(@dune) + $_)}; } split /[DUNE]/,$japh;

Solved.
I've used the installer, it doesn't work very well, but it's a great help.
The 'Error' problem is, as you suggested, an openGL problem.
You just need to configure correctly you card. Make sure you have direct rendering enabled (glxinfo). |

"opengl-update nvidia" fixed that problem for me. _________________ Do you want your posessions identified? [ynq] (n) |
