Has anyone managed to get the intel 4965 card to operate at 802.11n speeds? I have enabled CONFIG_IWL4965_HT in my kernel, but I'm unable to actually get the card to communicate at speeds higher than 54 Mb/s. I am unable to use iwlconfig to change the rate at all. Any help would be appreciated.

This seems to be a related bug: http://www.intellinuxwireless.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1680
However, there seems to be no meaningful resolution the issue. Also, the suggestion of using ndiswrapper with the Windows drivers does not seem to be feasible either, as I can't get ndiswrapper to properly load the 64-bit Windows XP drivers that Intel provides for this card.

Ndiswrapper: you need to modify the netw4x64.inf file. Can't remember what the mod is, but I pasted it at http://rafb.net/p/NlPeAJ97.html

If you like, do a diff and post it here.

termite: Is this the edit that you're referring to: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=447382? I didn't find the old netw4x64 driver (although I didn't particularly search very hard), but I tried the netw5x64 XP driver with and without the header edit and ndiswrapper complains that it can't load the driver.

Still, it seems like it would be a better solution if the native linux driver would operate properly.

Edit: It seems that 802.11n speeds may be working, but just not properly reported according to this thread on the iwl4965 devel ml:
