Hello,
I'm looking for a new external hard disk with eSata interface. I found the Western Digital My Book II Studio Edition. Since this comes with RAID-0/1 I was wondering how I would manage to change the RAID mode without a MS OS?

BTW do you have any other suggestions for an external hard disk with eSATA? How about the Seagate FreeAgent?

Thanks in advance,

no, the Seagate Freeagent Pro (the non-Pro doesn't have eSATA) is bad & lead to lockups ... whatever (just google it up)

the Wester Digital hdds also seem to have a pretty high "Ausfallrate" (failure rate, several cases already after few hours of operation)

while you're from Austria, too, here the solution I chose:

SATA II Seagate Barracuda ES.2, 1TB, 32MB Cache <-- try to get those manufactured in Malaysia, models from China should be fine too, if the survive the first few days of operation

FANTEC LD-H35US2 für 3,5" SATA II, USB2.0/eSATA, silver,Alu

there you go !

have a nice day 8)
