So I'm a recent convert to Gentoo from Ubuntu. It's been a rough ride, but with a few days and 3 installs, I've been able to get a very stable system. Now I'm just trying to figure out how to get my Creative Elite Pro sound card to work. I know that it probably won't, as it didn't in Ubuntu, but I thought that I'd at least ask. Thanks for the help!

Since sound support is mostly in the kernel, you may be getting support soon, if it doesn't already exist. To find out, paste the results of lspci -n into this site. If there are drivers as of kernel version 2.6.25.7, they will show up there. Even better, if the card is listed, then you're probably pretty close to having a functional driver...and it may exist in 2.6.26.
Good luck.
Blessed be!
