I made splashutils work with vesafb driver. After some tweaking I even solved the very slow text rendering problem (using mtrr:3 instead of 2). But I still have some problems, in mc editor most lines are covered by grey squares, I have to move the cursor through all the line to uncover the text.
So, I tried radeonfb driver, but it doesnt works, simply doesnt inits graphic mode. I have been searching for radeonfb parameters, but all references only mention radeonfb:1024x768, but nothing about mtrr or something else.

Most likely, they don't mention mtrr parameters because they were published before mtrr was a required kernel option (I think that happened at 2.6.8.) Why dont't you try using uvesafb? |
