Okay I tried getting 2.6.0-test1 working, and it wasn't fun. I decided I'd just rather stick with 2.4.21. So I got rid of 2.6.0-test1 by unmerging it. I manually deleted /lib/modules/2.6.0-test1 and the directories in /usr/src/. However when I boot-up the computer it still looks for some modules or something from the module loading phase. I don't remember the specifics because they scroll by too fast, and don't show up in dmesg. _________________ "And I'm right. Okay I was able to get some of the error messages
Code: | Cannot open font file default8x16 |
Code: | modprobe: modprobe: Can't locat module keybdev
cannot open file windowskeys |
Code: | Error loading keymappings |
I'm going to reboot a few more times and see if I can get the rest... _________________ "And I'm right. I'm always right, but in this case I'm just a bit more right than I usually am." - Linus Torvalds |

Code: | cannot load module /dev/ide/cd |
It also mentioned two other modules that were /dev/ide/ something which I didn't catch. Also I get an error when I shutdown. Something about a cmdline script or something. I'll try to catch it when I reboot again... _________________ "And I'm right. I'm always right, but in this case I'm just a bit more right than I usually am." - Linus Torvalds |

Okay the other two are /dev/ide/hd and /dev/ide/host0/cd. Also the error I got when I shutdown didn't reappear. No clue why... _________________ "And I'm right. I'm always right, but in this case I'm just a bit more right than I usually am." - Linus Torvalds |

Try unmerging module-init-tools and remerging modutils. |

Thanks that got rid of some of 'em. I'm still getting the font and windowskeys errors though. _________________ "And I'm right. I'm always right, but in this case I'm just a bit more right than I usually am." - Linus Torvalds |
