Hi,
I installed few days ago gentoo, with framebuffer support in the kernel (ati framebuffer). I just wanted to get an higher definition in text mode. Today I installed x-server succesfully but had trouble while logging out either from twm or fluxbox : my computer was freezing, and no way to ssh or change console. The work-around was to disable framebuffer.
Then, is there a way to make them working together ?
Thanks |

I can't solve your problem, I can report however that the combination of gentoo-sources-2.6.26-r1 with VESA framebuffer enabled and the latest 'testing' ati-drivers works fine for me with metacity. Which framebuffer option did you enable? Radeon? In that case I would try with VESA only. |
