Hello!
How do I choose what happens when clicking on a link to a text file in firefox?
Right now firefox just displays the text file in the browser window =/
But I want to be able to choose from a list of applications (Open with...-dialog) how that file should be treated.
Best thing for me would be if it's possible to choose application based on file extension. Can't see how to do that.
Been through Edit > Preferences > Applications and set text document to always ask. Firefox ignores it.
Tried to change mime.types files. Firefox ignores it. Whatever I do. Firefox ignores it.
Any ideas?
Thanks. |

how i usually do it, is when you get the download window, with the option to open or save, choose open, and select "other" from the dropdown. then put in the path to the app you want to view it with. _________________

That's my problem =/
I want to load parameters from a text file to a bash script. So when clicking on the link in firefox I'd like to be able to select my script.
But firefox just displays the text file in the browser.
Any ideas? |

You're right. There are other ways to do it. But I would prefer using firefox for this one.
I mean how hard could this be? sounds like basic browser functionality to me.
Anyone? |
