|
|
I cant emerge all packages when i emerge gnome.
I made a mistake not including X in make.conf, i noticed that when i got an econf error abaout cairo.
so i included x in make.conf and ran revdep-rebuild and reemerged cairo.
that seemed to help because i succesfully emerged alot of packages.
but now i get die message econf failed again.
i have tried emerge --resume --skipfirst but i still keep getting a lot of econf errors.
please help me because i have no idea what to do.
Is all the econf errors because i forgot to include x in make.conf or can it be something else?
is it better to start all over again or can i fix it?
/thanks! |

ALWAYS after changing use flags do a 'emerge --deep --update --newuse world --verbose --ask' or in short 'emerge -uDNva world'. Check the list of packages to be updated and look for packages with useflags that u you still want to tweak. To set flags fo individual packages use the /etc/portage/package.use file.
Good luck

Always post the error text you receive. The econf stage can fail for various reasons. Without knowing which packages are failing and exactly how they fail, we cannot help you. |
