Hi,
I have a Dell D420 running gentoo. The parallel Port module is build and autoloaded by udev, but there is no device created for the port. Any Idea? |

Might be silly:
Is it enabled in BIOS? _________________ Core2Duo e6300 | Asus P5B-V | 3 GB RAM | kernel 2.6.24 | KDE 3.5.9 + 4.0.0 |

I too, don't have /dev/lp - until I turn on my printer. Then I *still* don't have /dev/lp - but I have /dev/usb/usblp0 on my lappy with Ubuntu. I don't have access to my desktop now so can't check if it is the same with Gentoo. You might check what rules are used in udev (/etc/udev) where it is added to. _________________ Core2Duo e6300 | Asus P5B-V | 3 GB RAM | kernel 2.6.24 | KDE 3.5.9 + 4.0.0 |
