I would like to have the aforementioned functionality working 100% and I know that many others would as well. As far as my testing, I could not get a TuxOnIce kernel to resume properly, had a kernel panic. The built-in kernel hibernate seems to not work, resumes to a black screen. When I did have sleep enabled, it would sleep, sometimes would come back correctly, most of the time would not.
A while back, I had Ubuntu installed and hibernate worked 1% of the time.
What is the story?
Please request any information you need. Currently I am using a gentoo-sources kernel with suspend to disk disabled. I am willing to try ANYTHING to get this working.
If you have the same laptop model (or similar), and this is working, please post with any relevant information as to how you got it working. I have been at it since I started using Linux (about 1.5 years).
Some other useful information:
- Model #: dv5224nr
- Video card: ATI Radeon Xpress 200m (using proprietary drivers)
I will post anything else that is needed. Really I would just love to see this problem solved as it is a problem among distros (Ubuntu still has not got a solution and they have a lot of testers), and among a lot more models than just the dv5000 series.
Thanks! |
