Perhaps a bit off topic but why is the KDE CVS ebuild site down? _________________ Registred Linux user #191143!

If I am not mistaken, the guy who maintains the KDE CVS ebuilds is the same person who maintains the KDE stock ebuilds. |

The guy who checked-in the 3.1.3 versions of KDE was Caleb Tennis. The cvs ebuilds are from Dan Armak. IIRC Dan Armak is the head of Gentoo's KDE team, which apparently consists of several people. |

Ohh stupied I am.... Tho nobody told be But check out http://dev.gentoo.org/~danarmak/kde-cvs.html . Apperently there have been some changes made to Gentoo website's structure so cvs.gentoo.org has been moved.

When are ebuilds for this normally out
I am really not trying to be pushy, the portage team does great work, and IMHO they can take all the time they need.
However I am going to be doing a gentoo install in the next few days and dont want to emerge kde 3.1.2 if there is going to be a 3.1.3 ebuild in a few more days _________________ Really, I'm not out to destroy Microsoft. That will just be a completely unintentional side effect.

I found that if you edit the package.mask file and removed the kde 3.1.3 stuff and then wne to the dir where the kde e-build is, and did
ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge kde-3.1.3.ebuild that it would do it _________________ My Box

Now the question is:
Which will arrive first, the ebuilds in "x86" or my new SMP board? That oughta cut down the compile time. |

Just to get this straight:
I have been running kde-cvs for a while now.
Does this release make my cvs build from three or foour days ago outdated?
That is to say, will 3.1.3 be as fast snappy as the cvs build compared to the last version? _________________ Please put [SOLVED] in your topic if you are a moron. |

No, kde 3.1.3 is only a bugfix release for 3.1.2. All the nice new features we see now in kde-cvs will be in kde 3.2 at the end of the year. _________________ This is my sick nature |
