i made the file ... run /sbin/lilo
computer answer:
Warning: Unable to determine video adapter in use in the present system!
Added linux*
what can i do to install my vga card? it is an ATI 7000 VE

I believe that this has more to do with lilo not being able to autodetect your type of adapter more than anything. Read man lilo and figure out if your line vga=normal (or whatever you have set it to) is correct. I believe that is your problem. To install your graphics on the other hand, you will have to run the config-program for xfree (or edit the conf-file manually) I don't remember the exact location of these files (conf in /etx/X11/someting) read the manual. |

Exactly. You don't have to install the card at all if you don't need to use X. I think that I got the same error message once, and I simply ignored it ;-) It worked anyway. :-) |
