I try to open firefox both from the menu or command line. It doesn't open. From command line I get no error but it still doesn't launch. I emerged again firefox 2.0.16. None of these help.
what's wrong? |

tried. didn't help. There was nothing to build. But I will try to sync and emerge again. Maybe it will help. |

are you getting anything at all or does the process just die? What does it return?
Try echo $? just after the process stops. _________________ Someone asked me once if I suffered from mental illness. I told him I enjoyed every second of it.

The process just dies.
Meanwhile I saw other threads of suse that has also the same problems. Someone suggested to delete .mozilla. I deleted it and it didn't help. emerged firefox 3 (unstable), managed to launch it as root and as user (but I lost the bookmarks). I have some backup. Less the latel changes.
Now I emerge back firefox 2. Hope it will help. Firefox had problems recently. Once in a while it crashed. |

I've got that going on with my laptop for some reason. What I've found when it happens is a .parent.lock file in .mozilla/firefox/(weird_name).default. Deleting that file lets firefox load normally. It seems that file is not deleted when firefox closes, then on reboot it thinks it's still running,
