Hi, well, now again I'm having some troubles.
I emerged gcc-4.3.1 and changed the symlink in /usr/src/gcc from the former (gcc-4.1) to the newly emerged one.
Now every configuration step on emerging, will fail with the error:
"C compiler cannot create executables"
Did I do anything wrong by changing the symlink?
Any idea how can I correct this issue and continue to use gcc-4.3.1?
My main motivation for the use of this version in specific is that it has some optmizing switches I'm willing to try, and that's the same reason why I don't want to go back to gcc-4.1.x.

Nop, actually, as I stated before, I just changed the gcc symlink in /usr/bin
should I roll back that change before using gcc-update?
Ok, so I didn't have gcc-update on my system, I used gcc-config to correct the issue.
The issue was solved by using:
gcc-config i686-pc-linux-4.3.1
to change the currently behing used one.
That solved my issues.
Thanks for your time guys!
