Audigy SE mic problem [Solved]

Simply to help any others, I couldn't get the microphone to record. I tried everything that I could find in the forum but there weren't any exact matches to what I saw in alasmixer, etc. Anyway I solved it in the Gnome Sound Recorder mixer window by just trying everything with no particular logic. Anyway, my fix occurred when, in the options menu, I set the digital source to i2s mixer out. It works but puzzles me since I am using an analog microphone and two simple analog speakers?
