No , it a laptop . Can do anything about that. I guess i ll try to install amd64 again. Worked before so it should work again.... Cant understand what is going wrong. The video card ( hardware wise ) works fine. The laptop has Vista on dual boot ( Shame on me :P ) and the graphics are ok. Should ( or must ) be a software related issue.. I just do not know where else to search

If it works, then it's insane that a 32 bits installation crash and a 64 installation pass with the intel driver.

If so, open a bugzilla on that !!!

@notHerbert

Yeah, everything is in there

@d2_racing

Doesnt look like a bug. And if it is , its a bug related to what? If it was a common situation with 32bit+intel graphics+Xorg im sure that a bug would have been opened already since this is a pretty common laptop configuration

No?

Maybe, downloading the wrong stages or mixing the CFLAG had a major break inside your Gentoo installation.

Just format your partition and retry :cry:

Problem appears to be solved. Just got a .config file from a friend ( he is running sabayon ). Startx works fine. I guess I need to compare both .config files to see what the $*# was wrong

I ll let you know
