|
|
Hi!
I have a Dell notebook with a Broadcom BCM 4312 Wireless Card.
Some informations:
Linux gentoo 2.6.24-gentoo-r2 #25 SMP i686 AMD Turion(tm) 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-50 AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux
Ok, here we go:
My wireless connection was working great until I emerge the 'networkmanager' package!
emerge log:
1222535043: ::: completed emerge (1 of sys-kernel/linux-headers-2.6.26 to /
1222535057: ::: completed emerge (2 of net-misc/dhcdbd-3.0 to /
1222535079: ::: completed emerge (3 of net-wireless/wpa_supplicant-0.5.10 to /
1222536664: ::: completed emerge (4 of sys-libs/glibc-2.8_p20080602 to /
1222536692: ::: completed emerge (5 of sys-apps/iproute2-2.6.26-r1 to /
1222536725: ::: completed emerge (6 of dev-libs/libnl-1.1-r1 to /
1222536808: ::: completed emerge (7 of net-misc/networkmanager-0.6.6 to /
1222536871: ::: completed emerge (8 of gnome-extra/nm-applet-0.6.6 to /
After that.. the wireless card cannot find any wireless networks!
I tried to unmerge networkmanager!
but the command 'iwlist wlan0 scan' still returns "No scan results".
I repeat this started to happen only after I emerge networkmanager!
Any help??
p.s.: Sorry about my english.. if something is wrong.. correct me _________________ L I N U X - BrAzIl!

good english. i will do my best to be clear, being conveniently unfortunate enough to not be taught your native language. here goes.
something changed, and an apparently unrelated thing broke. this may be a sign that you should run revdep-rebuild, from the gentoolkit package.
failing that, check your logs to try to spot relevant lines like (can't load this-or-that library, can't apply power, these types of things).
good luck! _________________ Configuring a Firewall? Try my iptables configuration
