In a couple of weeks, you will be able to use the new Funtoo Metro program that can replace Gentoo catalyst...the actual Stage builder.

In fact, there is not many doc or wikis about catalyst, because the creation of a Stage is a tool only for the devs.

So, since I'm not a dev, I can help you with that.

But, the Metro program will have a nice documentation if you check the funtoo.org project.

There is also a stage4 archive which is an image of your entire root partition.

Sorry for my incomprehension, but I can't understand how to create and work with /dev/* files?

yesterday I tried catalyst and it works well enough.

you only have to adapt a *spec file to your need. download a stage3 and a portage snapshot. everything else does catalyst for you.

I cloned a the git version of catalyst, but unfortunately it seems there is a file named catalyst.config missing. as far as I have seen there is support for new arches.

If I were you, I would wait for the Metro Project for Daniel Robbins (Funtoo.org).

He tool will create automatic Stages and LiveCD with a little config file.

The rest will be automatic.

like catalyst.

with catalyst you only have to a adapt a little config file (spec-file) and it creates automatic livecds and stages. ;D
