I removed dhcpcd and reinstalled again. (I had problem with detecting the DNS. I removed even what was stored int /etc about dhcpcd and I removed what was storred in /var/lib/ about dhcpcd)
I reinstalled again dhcpcd and now I have that problem when I boot my gentoo:
Code:
No DHCP client installed
ERROR:  cannot start netmount as net.eth0 could not start

If I try
Code:
#/etc/init.d/net.eth0 start

I receive that message
Code:
# /etc/init.d/net.eth0 restart
 * Starting eth0
 *   Loading networking modules for eth0
 *     modules: apipa arping ccwgroup iptunnel macchanger macnet rename ifconfig ip6to4 pppd system
 *       ifconfig provides interface
 *       pppd provides ppp
 *   Configuring eth0 for MAC address ... ...               [ ok ]
 *   Bringing up eth0
 *     dhcp
 *     No DHCP client installed                                           [ !! ]

If I try manualy to start dhcpcd
Code:
#dhcpcd eth0

it works.
But after reboot I have the same above error.

Now I can't make it to work neither with dhcpcd-3.2.3
I have the same problem:
Code:
No DHCP client installed
 ERROR:  cannot start netmount as net.eth0 could not start

Can you post your /etc/conf.d/net ?

I have the latest dhcpcd program and I don't have this problem right now.

My /etc/conf.d/net
Code:
# This blank configuration will automatically use DHCP for any net.*
# scripts in /etc/init.d.  To create a more complete configuration,
# please review /etc/conf.d/net.example and save your configuration
# in /etc/conf.d/net (this file :]!).
config_eth0=( "dhcp" )
dhcp_eth0="nodns nontp nonis"

Can you comment the file /etc/conf.d/net and retry.

I know for a fact that you are not alone on this one.

I commented all lines:
Code:
# This blank configuration will automatically use DHCP for any net.*
# scripts in /etc/init.d.  To create a more complete configuration,
# please review /etc/conf.d/net.example and save your configuration
# in /etc/conf.d/net (this file :]!).
# config_eth0=( "dhcp" )
# dhcp_eth0="nodns nontp nonis"

The same problem:
Code:
 * Starting eth0
 *   Configuration not set for eth0 - assuming DHCP
 *   No DHCP client installed                                             [ !! ]
 * ERROR:  cannot start netmount as net.eth0 could not start

/etc/resolv.conf
Code:
# Generated by dhcpcd from eth0
# /etc/resolv.conf.head can replace this line
search city.provider.ro
nameserver IP
nameserver IP
# /etc/resolv.conf.tail can replace this line

(city = my city, provider = my provider, IP = IP addresses)
