No Internet Nor Gnome Post-Install?

Hey guys,

I used the LiveCD to install Gentoo using the GUI installer and I've noticed a couple of problems:

When booting from the Live CD, I have access to the internet (as I type this out using the LiveCD). But the installation leaves me with no such internet.

GDM, Gnome, or Gnome-Desktop will not work post-install.

Internet Problems:
ifconfig -a does not show my eth0 or eth1. During the install, my eth interfaces were detected multiple times, and I took the opportunity to declare them DHCP during the install. Again, I have internet from the LiveCD, but nothing on the hard-drive.

Gnome:
When I specify to use the Gnome session, X bombs out saying there was a problem:
ssh-agent -- gnome-desktop
ssh-agent : File or link not found

emerge -s gnome-desktop shows that it is installed. Any ideas?

Moved from Installing Gentoo to Kernel & Hardware.

Sounds like you didn't select the correct network card module when you configured the kernel. Can we get a lsmod and lspci?
