Hi!
I am having a problem with internet connection. In theory I am 10MBit/s connection, but transfers I get (ftp/www, I am not talking about p2p) are maximum 20 - 30 kb/s. Previously everything was OK (transfers around 200 - 330 even 800 kb/s). My ISP told me that there must be a problem at my box.

I wonder - what are those first 4 positions with 100% loss?
My connection is cable, dhcp.

eth1 is my internet connection.
eth0 is second ethernet card used for connecting wireless router so I can use my laptop at home.
Could you please give me some comments / share ideas of this situation?

interesting.
Have you re-booted your router / modem ?
Have you re-started your system.
when the system is running good, i assume the ??? are gone.
I know this does not FIX anything, but it could be a start to debug.
(I have a similar problem with my dsl, re-booting my crappy Westell W327 modem 'fixes' it for another several days) _________________ Mark

Yeah, I am restarting it but it doesn't help me a lot.
In fact, now everything is fine, but the first points are still ???? with 100% drop.
I don't get it.
Start to debug? Yeah, but how? My understanding of TCP/IP is rather limited... _________________ Mark Twain said it best:

the first four entries are my machine, firewall, router and then the first hop to the internet. Perhaps yours are the same, but maybe ICMP isn't enabled or something generating the loss for you. I'm not much an expert on this, but I know our cable internet in Warsaw is a problem and we get lots of connection resets with it when trying to browse normally. However, I don't know if this is because it's cable, or because of the wireless access point / router or a combination of both. _________________ Ian Walker

Just to makes thinks clear.
The connections are:
ISP----cable-----CABLE_MODEM----utp_ethernet---MY_BOX-----utp_ethernet----LINKSYS_WRT54G----wireless----MY_LAPTOP
I have problems on MY_BOX which is Gentoo box.
MY_BOX is running dnsmasq (according to http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/home-router-howto.xml)
I have no idea how to approach this problem. I need to know how to check things, whether I need to change something at my box or fight with ISP.... _________________ Mark Twain said it best:
