I often have xfs errors specially during file transfer via NFS to server (xfs partition). After such errors (examples below) I have to restart my server and run xfs_repair which gives me usually some info about corrupted files.

Example output:

Code:
[462567.973560] Filesystem "sda6": Access to block zero in inode 3257375020 start_block: 0 start_off: 0 blkcnt: 0 extent-state: 0 lastx: 329
[462567.983921] Filesystem "sda6": Access to block zero in inode 3257375020 start_block: 0 start_off: 0 blkcnt: 0 extent-state: 0 lastx: 32b
[462567.993600] Filesystem "sda6": Access to block zero in inode 3257375020 start_block: 0 start_off: 0 blkcnt: 0 extent-state: 0 lastx: 32b
[462568.011638] Filesystem "sda6": Access to block zero in inode 3257375020 start_block: 0 start_off: 0 blkcnt: 0 extent-state: 0 lastx: 32d
[462568.013668] Filesystem "sda6": Access to block zero in inode 3257375020 start_block: 0 start_off: 0 blkcnt: 0 extent-state: 0 lastx: 32d
[462568.023831] Filesystem "sda6": Access to block zero in inode 3257375020 start_block: 0 start_off: 0 blkcnt: 0 extent-state: 0 lastx: 32f

Is there any way to track source of this problem? Does anyone had simmilar problems with XFS? How it is compared to ext3 when we think about files corruption?

Thanks for help.

Thanks for reply. Currently I use stock x86 gentoo kernel but I'll look for this patch during 2.6.27 move. Anyway I don't really know where to look for source of problems. I've only found that corruption occurs under heavy hdd usage. Maybe it's power related? I have Via Epia board + 750 GB F1 Samsung drive and 90W fanless PSU.

My xfs_info:

Code:
meta-data=/dev/sda6              isize=256    agcount=32, agsize=5669187 blks
         =                       sectsz=512   attr=0
data     =                       bsize=4096   blocks=181413984, imaxpct=25
         =                       sunit=0      swidth=0 blks
naming   =version 2              bsize=4096
log      =internal               bsize=4096   blocks=32768, version=1
         =                       sectsz=512   sunit=0 blks, lazy-count=0
realtime =none                   extsz=4096   blocks=0, rtextents=0

fstab:

Code:
/dev/sda6               /home           xfs             noatime,nodiratime      0 0

smart seems to be OK:

Code:

are you using 4k stacks?

because 4k+xfs+nfs is a known bad scenario.
