I've got a NAS box with a minimal binary-only custom installation, and would like to get Portage running on it so I can use emerge.
I did a search on this and found this thread, but it's dated 2004 and looks like it doesn't work anymore. Nothing really useful seemed to pop out from Google either.
Assuming I have a recent 2.6 kernel+glibc, and gcc and python are installed, what other dependencies are necessary, and what would I need to do to get Portage up and running?
Thanks for any help/suggestions!
