ok I have been two days on this card trying to make it work!! but... I am just about to break my laptop apart!!
I am new to gentoo but not to linux in general
My wireless card is : Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection
I found that the module for this card is iwl3945 so I modprobe it. and it seems fine
now... after this nothing seems to work!!

I have done "emerge iwl3945-ucode" .... many times and it keeps emerging like its not there.... is this normal??
if you need any more info tell me... T
I really need help!! please
(its becoming very frustrating lol)

I had the same issue with the card... it could not scan and could only connect to unencrypted networks. Any /etc/init.d/wlan0 restart or attempts to reconfigure led to the infamous message "Wireless radio has been killed for interface wlan0".
My solution: emerge wpa_supplicant and wicd. _________________ No weight nor mass nor beauty of execution can outweigh a grain or fragment of thought |

I found a solution.. about a week ago.. but was very busy to be able to post here!!
I found a thread in this forum of a problem very close to mine.. if not the same and the solution there helped me to fix it.. I was searching now th thread to link to it but no luck .. sorry |
